Camping and RVing in the California Delta seem to go hand in hand with boating and fishing. The Delta area offers nearly 50 campgrounds and RV parks with a total of over 2,800 sites, most of them either next-to or just a stroll-from the water.

For campers or RVers who tow along a trailerboat, many California Delta resorts also offer boat launching, and a guest dock where you can keep the boat overnight while it is in the water. Some people bring their tent and camping supplies in their small boat and find a new camp site each night. And if you do not feel like cooking, you can dine in a the resort restaurant.

Most ofthe Delta area RV parks are located at marinas, thus boaters, campers and RVers together share the joys of being next-to and on the water. There are a lot of similarities between boating and RVing, and many Delta area yacht clubs these days find that they have a substantial RVing contingent in their ranks. In fact, they often refer to the RVs as their "land yachts." Most facilities allow pets (dogs must be on a leash) but there may be an extra charge for them.

Many of the RV parks have recreational rooms and other facilities perfect for group outings, and can cater food if your group so desires it.
