"Casino Royale" Coming to Stockton
The 163 foot Mega Yacht Casino Royale will be at the Stockton Marina in March. It's actually named after a James Bond movie as are all the Yachts built by renowned yachtsman John A. Staluppi. For those of you that will be attending the Stockton Asparagus Festival, you won't be able to miss it!
Casino Royale's 6,900 square feet of interior space is a masterpiece of interwoven wood and stone, with Sapele mahogany raised-panel joinery and custom marble and granite work defining the salon and dining areas. The master stateroom also has the beautiful woodwork with intricate marble wainscoting. The spiral staircase of the entryway features sexy Bond-girl silhouettes etched into frosted panes of glass, and an intricately carved sculpture of a roulette wheel, made of petrified wood and stone, completes the Bond motif. The yacht, which has a transatlantic range of 4,500 miles, will be on display at this year's Fort Lauderdale, Florida, boat show. Visit their website:

Sacramento Yacht Club Salmon Derby Winners
The Awards Ceremony for the 2011 Sacramento YC Salmon Derby was held on November 18, following the November SYC general meeting. Twenty one of the 37 entrants participated. Derby Board Member Ron Nycum opened the proceedings with an overview of the season.
Board Member Frank Bettis critiqued the top three entrants and their fish. Entrants' licenses were cleared through the Dept of Fish & Game measurements and photographs and witnesses carefully scrutinized. There was some controversy, mostly for imagined irregularities, an even more good-natured ribbing. Board Member and Treasurer, Kit Rodden, handed out the prize money. The 1st place winner, upon reaching his chair and opening his envelope, was startled to find only play money instead of cash. Treasurer Kit Rodden, after a lot of protesting, finally gave him his real money.
Winners: 1st place: Past Commodore Bob Lygren (34.5") $300 (shown in the middle of the photo). 2nd place: Gary Leong (32.5") $175 (shown at right). 3rd place: Susie Moneymaker (27") $115 (accepting is Susie's husband Bruce).
